Blake renovates bathrooms for Women’s Shelter

It is not uncommon to have a team member approach you at the workplace to disclose confidentially that they are the victim of abuse.

The Phoenix Child and Family Welfare Society have always rendered assistance to us in this regard, hence, when we received their request to renovate two bathrooms at their shelter which provides refuge for women, children and victims of abuse, we could only respond in the positive. Pampering the orphaned, vulnerable and abandoned

Blake was given the privilege to prepare 400 party packs in an initiative by the Phoenix Child and Family Welfare Society to pamper orphaned, vulnerable and abandoned children during the festive period.

There was much hype and excitement as most around the world had put up their Christmas décor and hung their stockings. There was a ‘shop till you drop’ atmosphere in most malls with family and friends purchasing gifts from wish lists.

East Coast Radio Toy Story collection box, filling up at Blake

The East Coast Radio Toy Story campaign is an initiative that has been successfully running for many years by the popular KwaZulu-Natal radio station. Encouraged by the worthy cause of this campaign, the Blake Domestic Collections team decided to support the East Coast Radio Toy Story 2010 and lend Santa a helping hand.

Toy Story Collection boxes were placed strategically throughout the call centre business with staff being given the opportunity to participate and support East Coast Radio with the Toy Story Venture 2010. Funds were also raised from various initiatives to purchase wonderful toys for boys and girls.

The response was overwhelming as the boxes reached capacity for this commendable cause. As boys and girls throughout the province eagerly await Santa Claus’ delivery this Christmas, we at Blake feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of a child’s life for a day.
